Speak or Type? Let's Settle the Score
I find myself having to listen to the same message multiple times just to understand what's being said, which can be time-consuming and frustrating.
We all agree voice notes are a horrible means of communication, right?
As someone who struggles with attention deficit, I strive to communicate clearly and effectively, but I've been increasingly frustrated with the trend of people using voice notes instead of typing out messages.
I understand that voice notes can be a quick and easy way to communicate, especially for those who don't like typing on their phone's keyboard or prefer to convey their emotions through voice.
However, it can be really difficult for me to process information when it's presented in an audio format. I find myself having to listen to the same message multiple times just to understand what's being said, which can be time-consuming and frustrating.
I rely on written communication because it allows me to read and re-read the message at my own pace, ensuring that I fully comprehend the content. Additionally, written messages provide a clear and permanent record of the conversation, allowing for easier reference and organization.
Now, I want to clarify that this isn't meant to dismiss the preferences or needs of others. It's simply a plea for understanding and an invitation to explore alternative methods that cater to diverse communication styles and needs. It's about finding a balance that allows everyone to effectively express themselves and receive information.
I'm curious to hear what you think about this. Am I alone in feeling this way, or are there others out there who also find voice notes to be a less-than-ideal means of communication? And for those who do use voice notes, do you have any tips for how I can better process the information contained in them?
